Stump Grinding
Stump grinding is a technique that we do to remove the sight of a stump, while keeping the roots in the ground. We essentially grind down the top of the stump until its below ground level, then fill in the top with a layer of topsoil.
As this process does not require us to dig up the ground and remove the whole stump and all of its roots, stump grinding is usually cheaper. Although it is cheaper, stump grinding does have some limitations. New trees are not able to be planted in the same vicinity, as roots are already occupying the ground below, and there is a chance that the decaying roots could attract termites or insects over time.

Stump Removal
For a complete stump removal, we remove all of the roots as well as the entire stump. Removing the entire stump eliminates the risk of long-term effects from the decaying roots, and also allows you to plant new trees in the affected area. If a stump needs to be removed due to a house or building being built, stump removal is necessary!
Full stump removal is more expensive than stump grinding as it is a lot more labor intensive and requires us to transport and dispose of the entire stump. Many factors also affect the price of the stump removal, such as the location, type of soil, size of the tree, and wood hardness.
